“Corporate logo designs are powerful symbols that help brand every business and organization,” said Sims. “Our county has changed dramatically since it was founded in 1853 so it is time we update our symbol and transition to an image that reflects the values of our citizens and government.”
Gable Design Group was founded in 1985 by Tony Gable, a multi-disciplined artist with more than 25 years experience. Gable impressed the design selection committee with his experience, diverse design work, knowledge of the community and passion for the project. Microsoft, Heartstream/Hewlett-Packard, Boeing, University of Washington, Sound Transit, Nordstrom, Harborview Medical Center, United Negro College Fund, Seattle Public Schools, NBBJ, National CASA and numerous non-profit groups are on his client list. The selection panel stated that the team put together by Gable Design Group for this project has a strong understanding of the history of this project and its importance for King County.
“I am honored to be selected to help make this momentous change to a symbol that celebrates the man and the feelings of the people of King County,” said Gable, who has 25 years experience in graphic design. “My team, including senior designer Nancy Mitsui Frederick and designer Alan Jennings, will strive to design a online logo design with clarity and longevity that is a powerful symbol that reflects the values of the people and government of our county.
